How were these products tested?
Over 300 patients at Dr Orrey Derma Clinic used and gave feedback on these formulas over several years, including patients with sensitive and redness-prone skin. Each product was changed and improved based on what they told us about results, texture and how it felt to use.
Are they really fragrance free and cruelty free?
Yes, both. Fragrance is also one of the most common triggers for reactive skin, so none of these products contain it.
Where are the products made?
In South Africa, by experienced South African chemists and manufacturers, to formulas set by the clinic team. Every formulation meets international cosmetic safety standards. We did not make these products in back room of the clinic in the sink, if that is what you are asking...
Who is behind Epitology?
Epitology was developed inside Dr Orrey Derma Clinic, a dermatology practice in Westlake, Cape Town. The range was built by Dr Nicolina Bardou, the clinic's aesthetics doctor, and Debora Gorton, a medical skin therapist with over 20 years of experience.
