Epitology started by accident.
When Dr Nicolina Bardou joined Dr Orrey Derma Clinic as the clinic’s Aesthetic Specialist, she immediately noticed a problem:
There was no single skincare range that properly addressed my patients’ needs. Instead, people were overwhelmed with choice and unsure what would actually work for their skin.
So I teamed up with Debora Gorton, the clinic’s medical skin therapist, and began creating custom treatment plans.
At first, we put together custom routines for their patients, handpicking products from different brands, each chosen for the right ingredients.
But it did not work.
Patients were leaving with five or six products and routines that were difficult to follow, expensive to maintain, and inconsistent in their results.
"Epitology was not planned. It grew out of a real problem we kept seeing in our clinic."
This is the story of how an accidental beginning became a skincare range people now trust.
So we changed our approach.
We began formulating our own products with the help of a trusted pharmaceutical company. Each one developed around a specific outcome, designed to be simple and effective.
At the beginning, the results varied. Some patients saw real improvement. Others did not. So we kept refining. We listened, adjusted, and simplified. We kept what worked and removed what did not. Over time, the results became consistent.
Patients kept coming back. They told their friends. What started as an in clinic solution became something people trusted.
That is when Simon Orrey stepped in:

That is when Simon Orrey stepped in:
Over 300 patients, aged 17 to 70, used the products, gave feedback, and returned to share their results. By the end of it, over 97% were happy. Not just with the results, but with how simple the products were to use, and how easily they fit into their lives.
But the most important insight came from the 3% who did not continue.
They had spent years trying to figure their skin out. Trying products, getting it wrong, starting again. Some had finally found something that worked, and were not willing to take that risk again.
And that changed how we saw Epitology. This was never just about making products that work. It was about building something that people could trust. So we kept going. Refining. Simplifying. And removing everything that did not need to be there until we were left with something clear:
A range that answers the same questions patients ask every day.
What should I use? When should I use it? What will this actually do for me?
And something else happened. When people felt better about their skin, they changed. Not dramatically, but in small ways that matter. They felt more at ease. More comfortable. More like themselves.
That is what Epitology is about:
Feeling confident in your skin.
